Office 2010 Release

Office 2010 has reached the RTM phase, the final version of the software that is released to manufacturing to get the product ready for purchase by end users.
Volume License customers with a Microsoft Software Assurance plan for Office will be the first to get the final version of the software. These customers will be able to download Office 2010 starting on April 27.

Business customers will be able to purchase the software on May 12th and retail customers can get the software in retail stores in the U.S. starting in June.

Microsoft is pushing the Office experience across the desktop, browser, and even the phone. Many of these capabilities will be found in Mobile Apps for Windows Mobile 6.5

Additionally, Microsoft announced that if you purchase Office 2007 now through Sept. 30, 2010 you can download Office 2010 for free.

Critical Product Vulnerability Patch

Microsoft released a Critical Product Vulnerability update, MS10-018, on March 30th. After extensive testing, we have found this patch to be safe for most computers. If you are a Managed Services customer, we have already installed the patch on your workstations. If you are not a Managed Services customer but subscribe to Windows Updates, it has already been installed through that. If you are unsure if it has been installed or would like help installing the patch on your workstation, please send a request to: ithelp@integratedit.com

Details of MS10-018:

This Security update resolves seven privately reported vulnerabilities and one publicly disclosed vulnerability in Internet Explorer. The more severe vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted Web page using Internet Explorer.

The Security update addresses these vulnerabilities by modifying the way that Internet Explorer handles objects in memory, validates input parameters, and filters HTML attributes.

A restart of each pc is required once the install is complete.
