Considering an ISP switch?
Have you been seeing all the advertising lately about switching to a better, faster, cheaper internet service provider? Before you think about switching there are several questions that need answering. Are these cheap monthly rates fixed or can they increase at will? What is the uptime percentage? What kind of bandwidth do you need? How many IP addresses will you receive? What kind of firewall changes need to be made? How will Spam filtering get reconfigured? Not to mention that DNS records need to be changed, and email connectivity needs to be tested, among other things.
We switch our clients to new ISP's every week. We know the pain of dealing with Comcast and Verizon, who offer consumer-grade service and while fast & cheap, do not offer Service Level Agreements. SLA's are contractual guarantees for timely support when your internet goes down. We recommend a backup line if the internet is considered a mission critical service to your business.
Before you switch, call us. We'll walk you through the steps so that you can make an informed decision and get the proper plan your business needs!
Two new Microsoft Achievements!
This summer we achieved two new Microsoft competencies to add to our Gold status. Our company has obtained the Silver MidMarket Solution Provider competency, which to quote Microsoft, "demonstrates expertise in providing critical infrastructure solutions, based on the most current Microsoft desktop, business-management, and server technologies, that are tailored to help midmarket businesses with their unique challenges." This designation places Integrated IT Solutions among the top 5 percent of Microsoft partners worldwide.
We also achieved our Cloud Accelerate certification. This means we have demonstrated an advanced committment to developing expertise in, and deploying, Microsoft's cloud-based (including Office 365) solutions.
Windows Small Business Server Changes
As you know, Microsoft has new upgrades coming this year to many of its products. For those of you who have Windows SBS 2003 environments, please consult your sales rep about what these changes mean to your business. Windows Server 2012 Essentials will be replacing Windows SBS 2011. If you are still running Windows SBS 2003, you will need to start thinking about upgrading within a year, as Microsoft has said they will no longer support this version (no patching or security updates) after next year. We have options for you, so let us help plan for it!
