Microsoft 2013 VAR Champion Partner of the Year!

We are proud to announce we have been recognized by Microsoft for winning a 2013 East Region SMB Partner Award! These awards highlight and recognize the excellence and achievement of East Region SMB value-added resellers (VARs) who have worked innovatively to produce exceptional results across the business.

During the July, 2013 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Houston, Microsoft’s East Region General Manager Kim Tubbs-Herron was on-site to acknowledge the award winners for their achievements. “The Microsoft Partner Awards recognize Microsoft partners that have developed and delivered exceptional Microsoft-based solutions over the last year,” said Tubbs-Herron. “Integrated IT Solutions demonstrates a commitment to serving its customers and providing innovative thinking and technology solutions.”

We want to thank our amazing team whose great work throughout this year helped us achieve this prestigious award! Is was a busy week for us: our sister company Source Code Corporation won Microsoft's coveted OEM Partner of the Year award.

New MA State Tax Law

A new law took effect on July 31 as part of the recently passed Transportation bill in MA. It appears as if some portion of the computer and software services that we provide will be taxed going forward, but we are working with our accountants to fully understand all of the law’s implications. Click here if you would like to view this new law.

According to the state revenue department, the state’s 6.25 percent sales tax now applies to ‘‘certain services relating to computer system design and to modification, integration, enhancement, installation, or configuration of standardized or prewritten software.’’

The department says it is getting a lot of questions about what that all means and expects to provide ‘‘further guidance’’ in the future after taking public comment and meeting with affected industries. We will keep you posted.

Office Mobile for Android is Here

Microsoft has recently announced that Office Mobile for Android phones is available. Office 365 subscribers will be able to download the app from the Google Play store for free and activate it. Office 365 subscribers will now be able to access, view, and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents with Windows Phone, iPhone and now Android phones.

After logging in, the last documents you worked on from either your PC - running the new Office - or phone will automatically show up in the recent documents tab. This is made possible by Office 365's roaming documents feature so that you always have quick access to the most up to date version of documents you worked on.

On the Locations tab you can see all of your connected cloud storage locations and add additional locations, such as SkyDrive, SkyDrive Pro or SharePoint sites. Please let us know if you would like help configuring your Droid to utilize your Office 365 features. Our help desk would be happy to assist you.
